Possible to use /stats/ folder instead of /mint/ ...?

I’ve been running Mint using the default /mint/ folder for around 5 months or so. I’d like to switch the folder to be /stats/ and wanted to make sure that it would not cause any problems with Mint working properly if I make that change.

Is there anything special that I need to do to use /stats/ instead of /mint/ ?

Is the /mint/ folder hard coded into Mint?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best,

John

You can rename the Mint folder to whatever you want. You will need to update all references to it though (the Mint JavaScript include, if you are using .htaccess and config/auto.php, Bird Feeder, Leaves) then visit /new_directory_name/?moved to update Mint’s internal references.

However if Mint is working for you, I would suggest leaving it as is so as to avoid any unforeseen complications.

What about using a symbolic link pointing /stats/ to /mint/ - would that enable me to link to domain.com/stats/ and have the stats display without any problem?

I would still operate Mint via the default /mint/ directory, but for anyone I give the stats link to I would give them domain.com/stats/

Think that would work fine?

Just for anyone else who might be looking for the same answers, I just setup a /stats/ symbolic link to /mint/ on my site and it appears to be working without issue.

I am still running mint via the default /mint/ folder and am only using /stats/ for linking to the stats info page.
