tracking sphider search queries with local searches pepper

Just curious if anyone has successfully used the local searches pepper to track search queries in the php search engine sphider?

In the local searches pepper preferences, I have /search/search.php as the path and listed query for the query field.

So far none of my searches are showing up in the local searches pepper. And the “ignore my visits” box in Mint is unchecked. All my visits to the site are being logged in Mint, just not search queries.

Thanks,

Joe

A link to your search page would be helpful. Are you certain that the Mint JavaScript include has been added to your search results page?

The installation of mint in question is tracking an intranet, so there is no way you can get access to it (maybe through a webex conf). Also double checked that the mint javascript include is on the search page.

An update though since my last post. I found that the local searches pepper is only tracking queries if the user clicks a link on the search results page. If someone enters a query and doesn’t click on a link on the results page, nothing is captured by the local searches pepper.

Is that how the local searches pepper is supposed to function?

Thanks for the help.

Nope, Local Searches should track data from hits to your search results page as well. That it’s not suggests that the JavaScript include is not on the search results page (is that separate from your search page?).
