iPhone 1.2 Pepper Doesn't Install...

…or rather never shows up as an option under the “Install” pane. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve downloaded this updated pepper, FTP’d it up the server, logged out, uninstalled the older v1.19, logged back in, etc. all twice, but all I still see/get only the v1.19 iPhone pepper - never the new one.

I’d really love to try that new feature on my iPhone of collapsing a pane. Any ideas anyone?

Open up the Pepper’s class.php file and make sure that the copy you’re uploading says var $version = 120; near the top (do a search for $version if you don’t see it). Make sure you are uploading it to the correct directory: /mint/pepper/shauninman/iphone/ and that you don’t have another copy of the iPhone Pepper installed in another, incorrect directory.

Hrrmph. I’ve done & double-checked everything you mentioned, but still no joy. There wouldn’t be some sort of fun caching issue on the iPhone would there?

Forget I mentioned anything about a possible iPhone cache issue. When I try to install a fresh version 1.20 iPhone Pepper, the Mint config/install page still reports it as 1.90 - I just don’t get it.

Try this, remove your fresh version of the 1.2 Pepper. If Mint doesn’t complain then you still have an iPhone Pepper installed and you’re installing the new version in the wrong place. Find the old version and install the new version over it.

Also, this may be a stupid question but I noticed that you have two licenses, one with the latest version of the iPhone Pepper, the other with 1.19. Are you certain that you are uploading the new version to the correct Mint installation?

Hi Shaun -

I do indeed have two licenses of Mint, both on the same server, but on different domains with distinctly different directories. Now that you mention it, the iPhone v1.20 Pepper works just fine on one domain, but not the other. You don’t suppose that the Pepper is getting fooled by an Apache module or something do you?

Have you followed the steps outlined in my second most recent post? I’m really at a loss as to what the problem is here.
