Mint a bit limited in tracking visitors?

I have been using off-site tracking for a long time now and recenly bought a license for Mint because I was fed up with slow loading of pages because of the off-site tracking.

but now I’m actually a bit dissapointed about what, or better yet what’s not being tracked by Mint.

I’ve always been a big fan of statcounter because it gives loads of info about what a certain visitor clicked, read, and how much he browsed through the site. Info like browser , system, country, etc…was also included.

How come Mint doesn’t offer this?

Hey there. Actually Mint (with my limited experience) tracks all of the information that you’re looking for. Have you installed the “peppers” or plugins that track visitor locations, visitor durations (Till Kruss and Shaun Inman have some great peppers for these functions) and user agents ? Based upon your post, you’ll need to install at least three more peppers to do this.

There’s a wealth of Peppers out there that add such functionality!

User Agent 007 adds the ability to view browser, system, screensize and flash version.
Locations adds the ability to see country information.

There’s lots of Peppers available to do different things. Mint is the framework that allows these peppers to work. Check out the Peppermill for everything you could need.

Thanks for the replies both of you. I figured Peppermill would be the answer but am not too sure on how to install all of those puppies. guess I’ll have to read up on the install notes.

Easily.

  1. Download Pepper
  2. Unzip
  3. Upload to /mint/pepper/developer/peppername/
  4. Go to /mint/?preferences and hit Install

Wallah! :)

I understand totally what you mean bu the limitation thing. I am too an ex statcounter user. I have installed a pepper called nametags, which as part of the data does track the visitors path. But it would be more usefull if it was a stand alone pepper.
