GeoMint 0.5 for Mint 2

I’ve updated my pepper GeoMint to work with Mint 2. You can find the zip-File at http://www.stopbeingcarbon.com/geomint

Just installed this and I get a white box (grey when moused over) where the map should be. Last Visitors and Country list both show data but I can’t see the map.

Sorry, I forgot to update the Readme. Please check back at the above url, you can find instructions in one of the last comments (#4 in the Readme, modification of display.php). Thanks and sorry for the troubles

I just tried to add this, and it breaks the preferences area within mint 2. Part of the second column and the entire third column of the preferences area are completely missing when this pepper is in my peppers folder. This is before even attempting to install it. If I remove the folder from the peppers folder, everything is back to normal.

Hmm…not working for me. I uploaded and edited files according the instructions, but it has broken my mint preferences screen. The Pepper column doesn’t even display, so I can’t actually install it. Once I delete the geomint class.php, everything is okay again. Any suggestions?

Oops…someone posted the same message even as I did, but I’ll leave this up…

Hey Chris. With the modification of the display.php file it now works.

Must remember not to overwrite it if Shaun releases a new version.

Chris,

Check out the new onDisplaySupplemental() method in the parent Pepper class. Combine that with a Preference that stores a user’s API key and you can do away with #4 in the Readme entirely. I’ll have more documentation shortly.

I modified the display.php file, adding that line right before the . Still no joy, all the data panes seem okay, but where there should be a map there’s just blank white space (that turns grey on mouseover).

Thanks, Rourke

Could somebody please let me have a look at his or her Mint installation (aka Client Mode - or the new one, forgot the name)?

Clupprich, I’ll leave this open for a while so you can see what’s happening… http://holyhandsinc.com/mint

Sorry, I can’t access the preferences because I don’t know your login (which I don’t wanna know ;) ). But could you install GeoMint again?

I could never install it. I uploaded it into the pepper folder, added the script to the display.php and then I went to install it… That’s when the preferences screen broke..

Could you download the new zip from my site and try again? If you’re using Firefox, could you have a look at the Error Console or maybe send me the source?

edit: Thanks Shaun, just integrated it and works like a charme!

Do you want the source from the prefs page?

Yes, please. Could you send it to clupprich gmail.com

It’s been sent… Let me know if you need anything else.

Well, it just stopped loading.

Does your directory structure look like the following?

/mint/pepper/clupprich/geomint/class.php /mint/pepper/clupprich/geomint/blank.gif

And could you do a mint/?preferences&errors for your Mint install (just add the &errors in the preference view-url) and tell me the result?

I just did what you asked and sent the error…

The directory structure looks exactly like that.

Could you install the newest version of GeoMint?

You can find the download here: stopbeingcarbon.com/GeoMint.zip

(I can’t reply to your emails, virtual mail address?)

No, it’s not a virtual email address… That’s makes me concerned. Is it just bouncing back?

I’ll install the newest version.

“User unknown in virtual alias table”

I’m looking into it.

I uploaded the newest version and I am still having the same problem (& the same error). When I remove the “clupprich” directory the preferences pane works fine…

Could you email me @ peterandtink gmail.com with the bounce message and full headers so I can have my host look into this email problem?

I’ve found the problem, PHP 5.x.x treats the whole thing different than 4.4.4.

Stay tuned for an update.
