I have Safari set up to automatically launch at startup on one of our Macs, with our Mint page as the home page.
Recently we started getting this error at the top of the page above the panes:
“There was a problem trying to reach the Hint server. Err: (6) name lookup timed out”
The error is there but all the panes are also there with all the data. If I refresh the page the error goes away.
No biggie, but what can we do to eliminate the problem?
That’s not a native Mint error. The third-party Hint Pepper is likely responsible. Uninstalling the Pepper should eliminate the error.
Yes, I had forgotten we had installed that as a test some time ago.
Removal eliminated the error.
